Up For Air
This is my submission for Mini Jam 200. It was developed entirely during the game jam (aside from the premade SFX, music, and font), and will not be submitted to any other jams.
You play as a frog who can jump to collect air bubbles to avoid drowning in the water. Play multiple levels and reach the end to get your freedom and return to land!
I had a lot of fun building this game. Even though I've participated in (and hosted) many game jams in the past, most of the games I've worked on before were very basic demos that lacked creativity and satisfying gameplay. This game is still short and simple but I think it's fun. Hope you enjoy!
Gameplay
There's only one control: Press the space bar or click to jump.
Jumping uses up one air bubble, and if you run out you can't jump anymore - although you don't lose until you hit something, and if you get air while falling you can keep jumping. You can time your jumps this way to maximize the air you get along your path (while dodging obstacles).
There are a total of 4 levels you have to get to the end of before you beat the game, and if you hit something you go back to the start of the level you're currently on. This should be about 5-10 minutes of gameplay depending on how many tries it takes.
